“They are preparing players for the South Africa tour”: Veteran PAK cricketer praises the selection of the Indian team for the New Zealand series |  Cricket

The Pakistani cricketer feels that despite resting some of its key players, India has managed to put on a great show against the T20 World Cup finalist, something he claimed that “no other team does” .

Veteran goalie and hitter Kamran Akmal was a compliment to the Rohit Sharma-led team from India after their excellent performance against New Zealand in the current home series. The Pakistani cricketer feels that even though some of his key players India have rested, he has managed to put on a fantastic show against the T20 World Cup finalist, something he claimed that “no other team does”.

Akmal also praised the management of the Indian team for giving some of the senior professionals a break, which he believes is a good way to deal with workload management.

“It’s a fabulous victory, that too with some new players. No other team does that. Because India has a lot of talents, they are providing opportunities for them. They are preparing the players for their upcoming South African tour and managing the workload quite well, “Akmal said in his Youtube channel.

“The Rohit captaincy has been aggressive, just when hitting. Despite some key senior players on the team resting, India is playing wonderfully. It is a great achievement to play like this against a World Cup finalist.”

Despite resting a set of senior players, which includes the likes of Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, Ravindra Jadeja, among others, India has secured back-to-back victories against New Zealand in the T20I series. In his absence, IPL star Venkatesh Iyer and Harshal Patel had the opportunity to don the colors of India, while other youngsters such as Ruturaj Gaikwad, Avesh Khan are part of the T20I team.

Meanwhile, the Indian unit will depart for South Africa for a tour of more than a month, where the team will compete in all three formats.
