Taliban: want good diplomatic relations with India: Taliban | India News
NEW DELHI: Describing India as a very important country in the region, the Taliban said after India’s conference in Afghanistan that they wanted good diplomatic relations with the Indian government. The spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid also assured that according to the “policy of the Islamic Emirates of Afghanistan”, their land will not be used against any country and that the Taliban want mutual cooperation.
“Although we are not present at this conference, we firmly believe that this conference is in the best interest of Afghanistan, as the entire region is considerate of the current Afghan situation and the participating countries should also think about improving and safeguarding the security situation in Afghanistan and helping the current government to ensure security in the country on its own, ”Mujahid said, adding that the Taliban had no anxiety about the India conference. He expressed his hope that the result will be “used and implemented”.
A day after the conference, the Indian government said that while it is committed to providing humanitarian assistance to Afghanistan, the situation on the ground remains difficult due to the lack of unhindered access for aid to the country. India is still awaiting approval from Pakistan to transport wheat to Afghanistan by road. “India’s support for the people of Afghanistan is very clear. We have been supporting the entire people of Afghanistan for many years. The situation on the ground has become very difficult in recent months, ”said MEA.
