BJP workers burned effigies of Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren and President Rabindra Nath Mahto during statewide protests against the decision to allow a ‘Namaz Hall’ in the Assembly.
The uproar by the opposition BJP over the allocation of a room to offer namaz at the Jharkhand assembly disrupted proceedings on Monday.
Before the day’s session began, the BJP MLAs sat on the stairs at the entrance of the Assembly singing Hanuman Chalisa and ‘Hare Rama’ with banners.
As soon as the day’s proceedings began, the BJP members flocked to the Well singing ‘Jai Shri Ram’.
They demanded the withdrawal of the order regarding the assignment of the namaz room.
Spokesperson Ravindra Nath Mahto urged the relentless BJP members, including Bhanu Pratap Shahi, to “return to their seats. You are good members. Please cooperate with the president. “
However, as the uproar continued, the president adjourned the House session until 12:45 p.m.

BJP workers burned effigies of Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren and President Mahto on Sunday during statewide protests against the decision to allow a ‘Namaz Hall’ in the Assembly.
The Speaker has assigned room number TW 348 to offer namaz, prompting the BJP demand to build a Hanuman temple and places of worship of other religions on the Assembly premises.
“The BJP will hold the Assembly and hold demonstrations in all districts to protest the measure. The House is the temple of democracy and the Hemant Soren government has insulted it by playing appeasement politics, ”said BJP Head of State and Rajya Sabha MP Deepak Prakash.
“The state government must immediately reverse this unconstitutional and undemocratic decision or else people will take to the streets,” said BJP Secretary General of State Aditya Sahu.
A notice dated September 2 and signed by Jharkhand Legislative Assembly Undersecretary Naveen Kumar by order of the President, which entered the public domain on September 4, read: “Assignment of room number TW 348 as Namaz Room for offer Namaz in the new Assembly building. “As soon as the notification came to the fore, the ruling Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) and Congress welcomed it.
“The MLAs in Hemant Soren’s government openly support the Taliban. A separate Namaz Hall in the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly is the result of this ideology. Otherwise, anyone who believes in Indian democracy would not do such an act, ”said former BJP Chief Minister and National Vice President Raghubar Das. PTI.
“The state government is tarnishing the dignity of the constitutional institutions for appeasement and the politics of voting banks. This is not a good sign for Jharkhand. The BJP will be agitated if the decision is not reversed. I myself will sit in a dharna outside the Assembly, ”he said.
BJP chief whip Viranchi Narayan has written a letter to the president warning him to go to court if the decision is not reversed.
The MLA Congress Irfan Ansari, which had sparked controversy by allegedly supporting the Taliban takeover of Afghanistan, accused the BJP of creating religious conflicts on all issues.
