Rajesh Thakur appointed President of the Jharkhand Congress

Rajesh Thakur was appointed chairman of the Jharkhand Pradesh Congressional Committee on Wednesday.

The head of Congress, Sonia Gandhi, on Wednesday appointed Rajesh Thakur as chairman of the Jharkhand Pradesh Congressional Committee with immediate effect. Replaces Dr. Rameshwar Oraon.

The party has also appointed four new acting presidents to replace the current ones.

The President of Congress has also appointed Deputy Geeta Kora, MLA Bandhu Tirkey, Jaleshwar Mahato and Shahzada Anwar as Acting Presidents.

“The party appreciates the contributions of the outgoing chairman of the PCC, Dr. Rameshwar Oraon. The party also appreciates the contributions of outgoing labor presidents Kamlesh Mahto, Irfan Ansari, Manas Sinha and Sanjay Paswan, ”the statement said.

This comes amid intense infighting in the state Congress. Several party leaders traveled to Delhi to meet with the central leadership and demanded that Dr. Rameshwar Oraon be removed as president of the state.
