New Delhi, Aug. 13: Jharkhand will host the camp of the Indian women’s national team from Aug. 16, the Indian Football Federation (AIFF) said on Friday.
The camp will be in preparation for the AFC Asian Cup 2022, the flagship continental championship, to be held in India from January 20 to February 6 next year.
Having taken over the senior women’s team, head coach Thomas Dennerby has named a list of 30 likely to be camping at Jamshedpur.
With more than three decades of experience behind him, Dennerby has previously guided the Swedish women’s national team to third place at the 2011 FIFA World Cup and to the quarter-finals at the 2012 London Olympics.
He also served as the head coach of the Nigerian women’s national team and guided them to the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
She also helped Nigerian women win the AWCON Award 2018 and was awarded the Coach of the Year 2018 in Nigeria.
