Jharkhand: Several students were injured by a police lathicharge charge during a protest by the marks of Class 12

Several students were injured when the police resorted to lathicharge during a protest over Class 12 markings in Jharkhand’s Dhanbad.

Several students were injured when police used metal charges to disperse them.

A class 12 student protest in Jharkhand’s Dhanbad escalated as agitated students stormed the collector’s lecture hall to meet with Health Minister Banna Gupta.

The protesting students, demanding a reevaluation of their Class 12 results, were trying to meet with Health Minister Banna Gupta, who was chairing a meeting with 20 other officials at the time.

The situation got out of control as the protesting students were unwilling to speak to any other administrative officials, leading to a confrontation between the students and the officials and security personnel present.

When protesting students began damaging property, SDM Surendra Kumar, who was present at the scene, ordered security personnel to disperse the students. The students reportedly tried to open the door to the conference room.

Then security personnel turned to laser charging to control the situation. Several students were reportedly injured in the incident.
