In major relief news for more than 62,000 teachers in Jharkhand on Wednesday, the government finally made the decision to prepare the rules for their regularized service within the next week.
Para teachers have long been agitating on the roads and in their homes, urging the government to regularize their service since the formation of the state. At this time, their services are by contract.
What different service rules are teachers asking for?
If the rules are laid down, then along the lines of Bihar and many other states, Jharkhand’s para-teachers could also serve up to retirement age.
Your salary would also be based on your ability and qualifications.
Consensus on rules almost reached
A consensus has almost been reached on the formula for regularizing assistant teachers in Jharkhand.
The state’s education minister, Jagarnath Mahato, had met the delegation of for teachers and senior officials on Wednesday before that.
He said that in a week rules would be prepared on the regularization of services for teachers. A draft of the rules will also be delivered to the teachers’ union.
If there is disagreement in any of its points, then the government will make the necessary corrections in it.
TET should not be performed
It has been decided not to take the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET).
In the Bihar line, a limited assessment test will be taken in Jharkhand for confirmation and salary scale of the for teachers.
