India’s Ritu Phogat to face Stamp Fairtex in MMA finals

Former Indian fighter Ritu Phogat will face world kick-boxing champion Stamp Fairtex, who is also a former Muay Thai world champion, in the MMA final of the ONE Female Atomweight Grand Prix World Championship on December 3.

Phogat, who ranks fourth, says he leaves no stone unturned in preparation for his next fight in the 48kg class at Singapore’s indoor stadium.

“India has never had an MMA champion in the past and now I have the power to change the narrative and place an Indian woman on the world MMA stage. I will do my best to make India proud, ”Phogat said in a statement.

Muay Thai is also a form of martial arts that originated in Thailand and is sometimes called the “eight-limbed art”.

“I have focused on the final for a long time and have trained for countless hours over the last two years.”

His opponent, Fairtex, is widely regarded as the most dangerous forward in the atomweight division. Phogat, 27, said his wrestling experience will give him an edge over his Thai rival.

“Stamp is definitely a formidable opponent, but he doesn’t have the kind of wrestling experience and background that I’ve built over the last seven years. I’m sure my superior wrestling experience will give me an advantage, ”she said.

“Also, I have been training extensively and overcoming my wins and losses, and I plan to make December 3 an extraordinary match in MMA history. My enhanced attack ability and game plan will be on display for everyone to see inside the circle. “
